Michelle Kovach, owner of Crackling Crust, approached me a couple of months ago as a referral from a mutual friend, Pickled Pig Owner, Gary Leybman. When we initially spoke about modernizing her brand, I was so excited to be able to recreate the look for a local brand. This was definitely my largest project to date. We started with her logo and instilled the organic values she holds dear into the design as well as the rustic/clean look of the typography. After the logo was created, we designed product labels that would be on every bread bag at local stores and markets. Soon after this was designed, Michelle sourced local artisans to create her signature bread bags for her bread share program.
The last part of the project was designing her custom website. Here we created a simple homepage that showcases her breads, bagels and toast selections, we then built in an interactive calendar that lets viewers know what markets she attends, when she drops her products off at local stores and when she will be making certain batches. Viewers can also buy and sign up for her bread share program right from her website.
Watching the journey of Crackling Crust evolve, grow and even be voted best new microbakery in Cincinnati has been even more rewarding than helping her design the new look for the brand – check out her page here!
